Given recent acts of seemingly random violence around the globe, many facilities are focusing on this topic and their responsibility to provide a safe working environment. Employees are concerned with their safety amidst the anger and frustration of patients over navigating a complex healthcare system. Preparation is the key to surviving any disaster and since disaster cannot be accurately predicted, it seems wise to understand the warning signs for workplace violence as well as the best practices to address a crisis.
