The purpose of this course is to provide an overview of telemedicine applications as they relate to practitioners today, providing general guidance as to the risks and liabilities of telemedicine. The course also provides suggestions as to the establishment of a patient/provider relationship, informed consent, and payment considerations relating to telemedicine.
- Identify risk issues associated with delivery of care through telemedicine
- Develop risk reduction strategies such as “webside manner”, informed consent, and documentation
- Identify objective techniques to assist with patient care in the use and practice of telemedicine
This course is a digital reading option. It consists of two sections of text, and each section is followed by a test.

Continuing Education for Non-Physicians: The UTCOM will issue Certificates of Participation to non-physicians for participating in this activity and designates it for CEUs using the national standard that 1 hour of educational instruction is awarded .1 CEU.
