8227: HIPAA Privacy Rule to Support Reproductive Healthcare Privacy
No Premium Credit Available and No Payment Required
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has updated the HIPAA Privacy Rule for the first time since 2013. These updates are in response to the Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization and specifically focus on enhancing privacy protections for reproductive health records. The rule defines reproductive health care broadly to include a wide range of services, from contraceptive medications to peri- and post-menopausal treatments, and the provision of medications and devices. The rule took effect on June 25, 2024, with a required compliance date of December 23, 2024.
Given the scope of this definition, many practices will likely be impacted. Make sure your practice is prepared for these new requirements. Join us for our webinar to discuss the Final Rule, its impact on healthcare providers and their patients, and insights into what entities must do to comply with these new regulations.
