Welcome to SVMIC's HIPAA General Officer Training. This training is intended for designated HIPAA Officers within the medical practice. The full HIPAA training is broken into 3 segments, each segment is then broken into separate modules. In this segment, we will cover Administrative Simplification and Enforcement as well as HIPAA Breach Notification. We recommend beginning your HIPAA Officer training here, and then moving on to the two other training segments - HIPAA Privacy Rule and HIPAA Security Rule. 

As you begin to develop your practice’s HIPAA Program, it is important to remember it must be customized to your practice’s unique needs and site-specific information. The SVMIC HIPAA Compliance Manual’s policies and procedures are designed to serve as a template for what the practice should be doing.
