The purpose of this seminar is to discuss the legalities and risks associated with the use of telemedicine, electronic health records (EHR) and patient portals, as well as, provide an overview of current cyber liability issues in the medical profession.

Learning Objectives

  1. Recognize and identify the limitations and risks of telemedicine.
  2. Develop safeguards and protocols to protect against/report cyber attacks.
  3. Identify and explain the risks associated with misuse of EHR and patient portals.
  4. Recognize how EHR errors can decrease defensibility of a malpractice claim.
